ICF to Host Austin Benefit April 5 for Iraqi Orphans, Street Kids

The Iraqi Children Foundation (ICF) will hold a benefit luncheon in Austin, TX, on Sunday, April 5, 2020, to benefit Iraq’s orphans, street kids, and other vulnerable children.

“So many Texans have a heart for Iraq’s children,” said Luma Jaffar, ICF Board Member, “including Americans of Iraqi heritage, veterans who served in Iraq, and anyone who loves children who are in harm’s way.  ICF – founded by Americans working in Iraq – gives us a path to help rescue these Iraqi orphans and street kids.”

The April 5 benefit will feature ICF President Barbara Marlowe, author of “A Brave Face:  Two Cultures, Two Families, and the Iraqi Girl Who Bound Them Together.”  The book is co-authored by Teeba Furat Marlowe, who came to the US for surgeries after suffering grave injuries from an IED bomb.  The book also includes stories from Teeba’s Iraqi mother.
