NASA Astronaut Meir Sends Special Message from Space to Hope Bus Children in Baghdad

Iraqi-American NASA Astronaut, Jessica Meir has delivered an empowering video message of support to kids on the Hope Buses in Baghdad, all the way from the International Space Station.

Astronaut Meir’s message started as a response to the audacious dream of a very vulnerable Iraqi girl who attended tutoring at the Hope Bus.  When she graduated, she said her dream was to be an astronaut.  She said she had learned from her time at the Hope Bus that nothing is impossible.

In her message, Astronaut Meir encourages Iraqi kids by saying "reach for your dreams and believe that they can come true."

In light of the current global crisis, this message reminds all Americans and Iraqis that our family is so important and also bigger than we think; it’s a time where we really need to come together to support each other from all corners of the earth, and beyond. Enjoy her inspiring message!
