The “Peace Zone” Clinic is Open and Serving Iraqi Kids Who Fled From ISIS
December 5, 2016
A new tent clinic, where young Iraqi doctors and nurses use their medical skills to mend little bodies, has opened in Tikrit to serve approximately 1,300 families who fled from ISIS. On the first day, 93 children and family members arrived at the door of the Peace Zone clinic for medical care.
The project is the brainchild of the Iraq Health Access Organization (IHAO) founder Hala Sarraf, and supported by an enthusiastic and courageous team of Iraqis with the International Federation of Medical Student Associations who are delivering loving medical care in very difficult circumstances.
The Iraqi Children Foundation is honored to be a part of a team of donors supporting the project which also includes the Preemptive Love Coalition, Education for Peace in Iraq Center (EPIC), Karadah Project, and Goals & Dreams.
